Mushroom in the Rain — A Song Celebrating Kindness and Community

A meaningful musical journey for toddlers and preschoolers, Mushroom in the Rain is a whimsical creation that tells the sweet tale of a group of animals finding shelter during a rainstorm. This heartwarming song, with music and lyrics by Catherine Pupello and video and music production by Brian Forbes at Limitless Health Productions, features the Song Connects Us Choir with lead singer Rezig Lampkin-Crandall, joined by Kisimi Bayoh and Kaia Joshi.

Mushroom in the Rain is more than a song, it’s a celebration of giving, storytelling, and togetherness. Each charming character — Share, Kindness, Wisdom, Zest, Enfocar, and Patience —embodies a unique ideal, showing how these values help us care for one another in times of need.

These lessons are brought to life with a vibrant, animated video and a spirited arrangement of melody that blends both the playfulness of youth and the heartfelt warmth of a potent message. It serves as a true reminder of the magic that manifests when we make space for each other in our lives. Its aim is to instruct children on the value and joy of sharing and unexpected friendship.

Together, let’s celebrate this joyful moment and share it with the young (and young at heart).

*Lyric & Writing Circles — Techniques for shaping lyrics, rhymes, metaphors, and storytelling into songs that resonate with people of all ages around the world. Participants work together to develop and refine their ideas into meaningful musical expressions.

*Emotional Soundscapes —Sing, play instruments, and explore tempo and dynamics to express different ideas and emotions. Perform songs that reflect the program’s themes and the stories you want to share.

*Creative Jams — Everyone has the opportunity to turn their ideas into original tracks. Working together in these interactive jams, people share, support, and celebrate each other’s creativity while bringing music to life.

More about our program

The Song Connects Us Experience:

1.     Expressive Composition Labs — Dive into hands-on music classes to experiment with melody, harmony, and beat. From crafting catchy hooks to layering chords on keyboards or guitars, they discover how simple musical elements can capture complex emotions.

2.     Lyric And Poetry Workshops — Using poetry prompts and collaborative writing circles, participants learn techniques for shaping powerful lyrics, rhymes, metaphors, and storytelling tips that turn personal experiences into songs that resonate.

3.     Emotional Soundscapes — Through guided listening exercises and “mood boards” of sound, teens explore how tempo, dynamics, and instruments evoke different feelings. They’ll practice matching musical styles (from chill indie to upbeat pop) to the emotions they wish to convey.

4.     Collaborative Ensemble Sessions — SCU is all about connection: small groups team up to blend their ideas into original tracks. These interactive jams foster communication skills, mutual encouragement, and the joy of creating something bigger than any solo act.

5.     Performance And Recording Fun — In a relaxed studio setting, or even via smartphone recording apps, young musicians get a taste of producing and sharing their songs. From mock “open mic” showcases to simple home recordings, they build confidence in presenting their work.

6.     Music And Lyrical Moments — To keep creativity flowing, short meditative breaks, like “beat breathing” or focused listening—help teens reset, stay present, and tap into fresh inspiration throughout each session.

At Song Connects Us, every chord struck, and every lyric penned is another step toward emotional awareness, creative confidence, and meaningful friendships. We can’t wait to hear the stories your young artists will share through song!
